Genesis Foster Care and Adoption Services provide temporary foster care and foster-to-adopt services. We offer 24-hour support and crisis intervention to the children and family in our care. We provide a competitive per diem to help absorb the cost of providing care. Our training program is designed to help foster parents gain the knowledge and skills necessary to make a positive change in the life of a child.
Becoming a foster parent and/or foster family in West Virginia may be much easier than you think. General guidelines include being at least 21 years of age, being either single or married, being able to meet basic income guidelines, being able to provide adequate bedroom space and a separate bed for each foster child in your care, have reliable transportation, being willing to complete 30 hours of Parent Resource information Development and Education (PRIDE) training (which is provided free of charge), agreeing to use non-physical discipline for the children in your care, being willing to have everyone in your household to undergo a complete background check, and allow Genesis Foster Care and Adoption Services staff to complete a health and safety check of your home.
Genesis Youth Crisis Center, Inc. is seeking families who are willing to provide a caring and nurturing home for these children by becoming a Genesis Foster Parent. YOU can make a positive change in the lives of our state’s children, who are in need of temporary and permanent families. It is our goal to connect these children with safe, nurturing relationships that will last a lifetime. Please consider becoming a part of our team and providing a child with the gift of “family”.
